The honeycomb structure of the cell walls with high porosity enables rapid release and activity of the mineral components.
Chemical reaction of sodium bicarbonate (SB)
One mole of SB reacts with one mole of lactic acid, neutralizing it. This reaction leads to the formation of sodium lactate, CO2 and water:
NaHCO3 + C3H6O3 => NaC3H6O3 + CO2 + H2O
Chemical reaction of BEECOMB
One mole of calcium carbonate from Beecomb neutralizes two moles of lactic acid. This reaction leads to the formation of calcium lactate, CO2 and water:
CaCO3 + 2C3H6O3 => Ca(C3H6O3)2 + CO2 + H2O
In dairy cows and beef cattle, an effective neutralization against excess rumen acids is achieved even at very low dosages as compared to classic rumen buffers.
This improved well-being increases the feed intake, leading to an improvement in milk production and feed conversion efficiency.
Fattening cattles significantly show improved balance with the use of calcified alge. Its low application rate ensures a good economic cost efficiency, while the supplemented calcium and magnesium are fully integrated into the mineral balance of the feed ration.
Recommendations:
Dairy cows: 80-100 g/head/day Beef cattle: 25 g – 50 g ca. 0,4 % of dry matter intake
Today, pig diets often include high levels of acids (organic acids, fermented feed) to improve performance and support animal health. However, excessively fine or fiber-deficient feed can irritate the stomach lining or even cause gastric ulcers. In addition, feed with excessively low pH levels can lead to a reduction in feed intake.
The long-lasting release of Ca and Mg ions by our calcified algae ensures a permanent optimization of the pH levels. Excess stomach acid is buffered, allowing the added acids to exert their effects optimally. Another highly beneficial effect is the reduced aggressiveness of the pigs.
Sows:
Beecomb can also improve the production in breeding through:
Recommedations:
Breeding sows: 0,4 % – 0,6 % of complete feed
Piglets, fattening pigs: 0,3 % – 0,4 % of complete feed
Beecomb obviously offers benefits in egg production and thus
enhances the return on investment:
Beecomb can also have a notably positive effect on the results of parent stock rearing:
Recommendations:
Laying hens / breeder stock: 0,5 % – 2 %
